Government is planning to reopen universities after 15 July

The federal government is seriously considering open universities from July and is in discussion with HEC. To resume the educational activities, the federal government asked the HEC to formulate a policy.

As schools and universities have been closed since March, now the government is considering reopening the educational institutes. The government decides to open the universities in the first phase before the schools and colleges. To resolve this issue, the HEC chairman called an online meeting with the VCs of universities. 

The government and HEC will decide to reopen the universities after finalizing the SOPs. There is also a suggestion by the HEC to open the varsities after Eid-ul-Azha

Shafqat Mehmood also stated that the government is considering reopening the varsities after 15 July. The purpose of opening the institutes in July is to check the effectiveness of the SOPs. However, proper classes will resume after Eid.
