Hopepunk Youth Writing Challenge 2020

Hopepunk Youth Writing Challenge 2020

Iron Bridge Publishing calls application for Hopepunk Youth Writing Challenge 2020. Hopepunk is a cross-genre movement in writing that is positive about humans’ ability to create a better future.

Benefits

All entries that meet the criteria below will be published in eBook anthologies. The writer will not only get a real-life experience of working with a publisher, but an eBook featuring the work will also be available for sale in online bookstores. In addition to that, the selection of entries from each age category will be also be published in print anthologies later in the year. Furthermore, authors who have a story selected for the print anthology will receive a publishing fee.

Criteria

The story must be the original work of the author and must not have been published elsewhere. It can be in any text form you like: poetry, prose, email, news article, graphic story…but it must present a hopeful vision for humanity and the planet. In addition to that, the story must be edited, proofread and polished before submission (the organizer will provide links and resources to assist with this). Stories that have spelling or grammar errors, missing words or don’t make sense will not proceed to publication but however, it is okay to have help with the editing and proofreading: professional writers get help with these stages too.

Words Count

  • Writers aged 8-12 can submit up to 800 words.
  • Writers aged 13-18 can submit up to 2000 words.
