Sindh Govt. Changes Admission Policy for Medical Universities

The government of Sindh has taken the decision of taking back a notification that permitted Peoples University of Medical and Health Sciences for Women in the Shaheed Benazirabad to conduct the entry tests for the medical colleges and universities throughout the province, as per the reports of local media.

A notification has been released by the provincial health department that said that the People’s University Shaheed Benazirabad would not be conducting the tests for the BDS and MBBS admissions in the medical colleges and universities of Sindh.

It is important to mention that the issue was taken up by the MQM-Pakistan after the party on the 3rd of July denied a change made by the government of Sindh in the admission policy for the medical colleges in the province.

There were some raised questions on the credibility of the Peoples Medical College Benazirabad. The MQM-P Parliamentary Leader in Sindh Assembly Kanwar Naveed Jameel has called the decision as biased towards the urban centers of the province of Sindh. He asked all that how could the future of the medical students be given over to such an institution that has such a reputation and asked the government to restore the previous admission policy for the medical colleges.
