PU BA BSC Syllabus | Paper Format & Exam Guide

Due to the prevailing conditions of COVID-19, Punjab University decided to conduct online exams of BA and BSC degree programs. So the students get ready as the exam is scheduled on 5th August 2020. The University of Punjab has divided the BA and BSC exams into two main categories i.e., Part-I and Part-II. The exams of Part-I are conducted in the first year of BA BSC. Similarly, the Part-II exams will be held in the next year. Now the students are in search of a complete BA and BSC part-I syllabus. Bachelor of Arts (BA)

1- Bachelor of Arts (BA)-Part-I

Below are mentioned the marks distribution of the following subjects

English (Compulsory-I) 100
Islamic Studies and Pak Studies (Compulsory-I) 100
Elective-I 100
Elective-II 100
Total 400

 

2-  Bachelor of Arts (BA)-Part-II

Below are mentioned the marks distribution of the following subjects

Subject Marks
English (Compulsory-II) 100
Optional Subject 100
Elective-I 100
Elective-II 100
Total 400

It is mandatory for BA students to select two elective subjects and one optional subject from the list of the subjects.

 Bachelor of Science (BSc)

1-  Bachelor of Arts (BSc)-Part-I

Below are mentioned the marks distribution of the following subjects

Islamic Studies and Pak Studies (Compulsory) 100

2-  Bachelor of Arts (BSc)-Part-II

Important Points of BA BSC Subjects:-

  •  For BA and BSc, English and Islamic Studies are mandatory subjects.
  • Islamic Studies and Pak studies are considered to be a combined paper of 100 marks. The 100 marks are divided into these two subjects i.e.; the Islamiat portion consists of 60 marks while the Pak studies portion consists of 40 marks. 
  • In the above-mentioned table, every elective subject has two papers. Part-I paper is taken in the Part-I bachelor program, and Part-II is attempted in the Part-II bachelor program.

Elective Subjects:-

Some elective subjects are selective for BA, while some are selective for BSc. BA students will select two elective subjects, and BSc Students will select one elective subject. BA and BSc are mentioned in the below-mentioned subjects.

How to Select Subjects:-

  • Candidate must select a subject according to the area of the interest
  • Before selecting, study the syllabus of the above-mentioned subjects.
  • Select only those subjects for Masters, which you already studied in Bachelors.
  • Private students must submit the certificate issued from the affiliated college.
