On 04 July 2020, the Education Minister of Punjab, Dr. Muras Raas, made a statement regarding reopening the schools. He said that it is impossible to open the schools from 15 July because of the situation.
The education department will order the institutes to open after complete satisfaction. But until there is not any confirmed date announced by the government.
In a talk with the media, Dr. Murad Raas gave a hint that school may reopen from 15 August 2020. It is only possible if the COVID-19 situation goes well and manageable.
He also said that if schools open in the mid of August, the administration will have to follow the SOPs strictly. The school education department had made detailed SOPs for the institutes. Murad Raas said that schools would open only when the government announced them. He also said that by calling the students on-campus now, I would not put the children’s lives in danger.
Regarding the school timing, he said that students would call in institutes in different shifts, mainly two shifts. He said that we would take all measures that ensure the appropriate social distancing in the classroom.
