The duration and level of funding vary for different types of studies. Graduates (master’s or postgraduate students) receive a monthly scholarship of 850 euros (861 euros as of August 1, 2020). The standard financing period is two years. After obtaining unconditional admission to doctoral studies at a German university, doctoral students receive a monthly scholarship of 1,200 euros. The standard funding period for doctoral students is three years. They also fund research stays in Germany for a minimum of three semesters.
