Vice-Chancellor Dr. Sarosh Hashmat Lodhi of NED University of Engineering and Technology on Tuesday announced a 20 percent reduction in the semester fees amid coronavirus pandemic, as per the reports of local media.
According to the shared details, the VC NED also announced to waive off the hostel rent for the students living inside the in the university hostels from all over the nation.
Sarosh Hashmat Lodhi in a statement said that the administration has announced relief for the students despite knowing that the university was going through a financial crisis owing to the coronavirus pandemic.

It is important to mention here that the university students from across the nation gathered outside the office of the Higher Education Commission in the federal capital on Wednesday asking for a waiver in their full semester fee.
They also wanted universities to stop their online classes and to promote students to the next semester without any exams.
The students chanted slogans with placards in their hands and blocked the service road for traffic.
Earlier last week, the academic council meeting of the University of Karachi approved a proposal to start online classes for the students as suggested by the Higher Education Commission.
