Opening of schools in Punjab for two days in a week

The School Education Department has announced a statement on 18 May 2020 under the Subject “Measures to control the outbreak of coronavirus pandemic in the country.” In the notification, it has been issued that in Punjab, permission has been taken to open schools for two days (Monday & Tuesday) in a week.

The purpose of opening the schools is to resolve the issues regarding the administrative, ancillary, and budgetary matters. In these two working days,  only Admin offices and district education authorities’ offices will be opened.

SOPs of this notification is:

• A face mask will be mandatory for the staff dealing with parents.
• It will be ensured that Proper social distancing is maintained.
• School timing will be from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM.
• Soap and hand sanitizer will be provided
• Students are not allowed to come to schools for any purposes.
• Teachers may be called for pay purposes, 
• Washrooms and other areas will be appropriately disinfected.

It has also been stated in the notification that all the above safety precautions and instructions must be followed.
