Govt to Conduct Exam on Vacant CSS Seats for the First Time Ever

Special examinations will be conducted on vacant seats of Civil Superior Services (CSS) across the country for the first time in Pakistan.

This was revealed by the Special Assistant to Prime Minister in Establishment, Arbab Shehzad in a TV interview. He said that on Prime Minister Imran Khan’s directives a special exam will be conducted for the 188 vacant seats across the country.

Arbab said that the exams for 41 seats of Sindh, 49 of Balochistan, 22 of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), and 16 seats of Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) and newly-merged tribal districts will be conducted during the month of November 2020. This is dependent on the coronavirus situation in Pakistan.

Hamid Mir tweeted, “First time in the history of Pakistan: PM @ImranKhanPTI allowed a special exam of CSS to fill 188 vacant seats(49 Balochistan 41 Sindh 22 KPK 16 FATA/GB) this special exam will take place in November this year.”

There are a total of 188 vacancies including the minority quota for which it has been decided to conduct the special examinations to bring development in these areas.

He said that the matter is finalized with the Federal Public Service Commission Chairman. Also he said that this would be the first time in the history that the vacant CSS seats will be occupied by a mid-term exam.

Earlier, the vacant seats remained unfulfilled for the rest of the year. They were added to the provincial quotas for the next year.
