Overview

The Human Resources Services Division (HRSD) provides dedicated services in support of human resources requirements of client entities, from process development through service delivery. Additionally, the Division establishes and manages rosters across all job families, organizes testing and examinations. Also, provides operational support and other advisory services for clients for the full spectrum of their delegated authorities. Likewise, it supports managers and business partners in the use of non-staff personnel.


Duties

• Plans, guides and leads the design, delivery of tests and other assessment tools for the Young Professionals Program (YPP) examinations.

• Likewise, the candidate leads the development and execution of general and specialized papers for large scale assessments of applicants to the YPP as well as execution of other assessment tools appropriate for selection for the YPP roster.

• Likewise, the applicant contributes to the development and implementation of new human resources policies, practices and procedures to meet the evolving needs of the Organization.

• Also, the incumbent monitors and ensures the implementation of human resources policies, practices and procedures and keeps abreast of developments in various areas of human resources.

• Additionally,  he/she prepares reports and participates and/or leads special human resources projects.

• Also, he/she plans, organizes, manages and supervises the work of the Unit/Section assigned.


Qualifications for  Vacancy for Human Resources Officer at UN in the USA

Advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent degree) in human resources management, business or public administration, social sciences, education or related field. Additionally, a first-level university degree in combination with additional two years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.

A minimum of seven years of progressively responsible experience in human resources management, administration, or related area is required.

Also, experience in planning, developing and administering tests and assessments related to recruitment for positions in international organizations is desirable.

Furthermore, experience with an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system, such as Umoja or equivalent, is desirable.

English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. Furthermore, for the position advertised, fluency in English is required. Additionally, knowledge of another United Nations official language is an advantage.
