12th Dubai International Best Practices Award of $11M Prize Money for Sustainable Development

Eligibility Criteria :

  • The Dubai International Best Practices Award for Sustainable Development aims to recognize global innovative practices that have had a positive impact; and continue to improve the quality of life for the people who drive to the cities of the future.
  • Established in 1995, under the leadership of the late Sheikh Maktoum Bin Rashid Al Maktoum during the United Nations International Conference in Dubai, as a result of the Dubai Declaration. This declaration created the international concept of sharing best practices for the accelerated development of the human settlements sector.
  • The Dubai Award for Best International Practices for Sustainable Development has continued to receive the support of SS Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates and Ruler of Dubai, and SS Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Governor of Dubai, Minister of Finance and Industry and President of the Municipality of Dubai.

Now in its twenty-fifth year, the award recognizes best practices in the world that demonstrate valuable contributions to sustainable urban development, as a result of effective partnerships between the public, private and civic sectors in these areas:

  • Urban Regeneration and Public Spaces
  • Construction of sustainable, innovative and smart buildings.
  • Sustaining urban food systems
  • Combat climate change and reduce pollution.
  • Planning and management of urban infrastructures.
